Interactive Class for 3rd-6th graders and their parents
At Wheaton Bible Church, we believe that communion and baptism are important ordinances that should be understood by everyone participating in it. We, also, believe parents need to be actively involved in their child’s education of communion because children who take communion do so with their families. With baptism even though it is the child’s decision, parents need to be involved in guiding them toward that end and help to determine if the child is ready.
The first part of the class will be the Seder meal showing God’s plan for redemption that has been revealed from the very beginning. The second part looks at baptism; what it symbolizes and how to prepare for it. The final part of the class focuses on what communion symbolizes and how we practice this ordinance here at Wheaton Bible Church. Come join us for a fun, interactive and informative evening.
Schedule:
- Seder Meal
Through drama, games, and sampling of food, children will learn the meaning of Passover and how it relates to the Last Supper.
- Baptism
The importance of baptism and the preparation for taking part in it through an object lesson, and a baptism example.
- Communion
The importance of communion and the preparation for receiving it will be taught by one of the Elders through drama, nailing sins to a cross, and a personal invitation to communion.
