Family Milestones
Marking the Milestones on Our Children’s Faith Journey
In our continuing effort to see church and home working together to reach the next generation for Christ, we have developed the Family Milestone Ministry. The purpose of this ministry is to map out key faith moments in the lives of children as they mature from an infant into an adult. This ministry is designed to give parents opportunities to invest in their children through key faith moments, and as they grow older give them opportunities to help launch their own faith.
The Milestone Ministry is not designed to stand alone, but rather to be a supporting structure that will fulfill our desire to see this next generation come to love God, grow together, and reach the world. There are three key elements to this ministry:
- Day-to-day discipleship in the home—as families use Home Discipleship Guides and take advantage of EquipU classes and other resources.
- Families worshiping together at church—Sunday morning worship, along with the celebrations and experiences that are part of the Milestone Ministry, as well as other family events led by Children’s Ministry, including Building a Christmas Memory, Good Good Friday, and others.
- Age-specific ministries for students and children—including Sunday morning classes and weekday Bible clubs for children, as well as Studio 78 for junior highers and Monday Night Live and core groups for high school students.
