How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ
I became a Believer at the age of seven after a missionary spoke to my Sunday school class during Missions Fest. This missionary was from China and had told my class that there were people in China who had never even heard of Jesus. As a seven-year-old from a Christian household, I was greatly saddened by the fact that there were people who did not know who Jesus was. I decided that day that I would be a missionary to those people one day and I went home and asked my mom how old I had to be to become a Christian. I did wind up spending time in Asia serving Christ. I taught English in Vietnam for six weeks one summer and in China for ten months. God has called me home for now, but it is still my heart’s desire to tell those around me just how wonderful Jesus is.
How I came to Wheaton Bible Church
I have been attending Wheaton Bible Church my entire life. My parents began attending a couple of years before I was born.
What I do at Wheaton Bible Church
I have one of the best jobs at Wheaton Bible- I get to write and run the
Neighborhood Bible Club
program. This means that I get to spend the school year teaching full time and my summers writing curriculum, training new hostesses, organizing materials, and volunteering at clubs all over the DuPage County area.
Why I do what I do
I have a great passion for Neighborhood Bible Clubs. My mom volunteered at the first NBC the year after I was born, back when everyone met at Cantigny. We hosted clubs in my family’s yard for as long as I can remember and I grew from an attender to a small group volunteer to a teacher. I have seen the great work that God can do in neighborhoods through this program and I am excited to continue to help families reach out to their neighbors with the love of Jesus.
