How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ
I came to know the Lord at a very young age (5), but when I was 10 I re-dedicated my life to the Lord because it was then that I really understood the Gospel at a deeper level. Since then, my prayer has been that Christ would “remake” me into the person He wants me to be. There have been many difficult situations in life that have drawn me closer to the Lord and have led me to deeper/full submission to Him as the one who is in control of my life. I am especially appreciative of my Christian Ed. Professor at college; God truly used him in my life to help me understand what it meant to have an “authentic” relationship with God.
How I came to Wheaton Bible Church
My husband and I came here about 10 years ago because our two older boys became active in Herd (the Jr. High ministry), and Student Body (the Sr. High ministry). Before that, however, I attended WBC from the age of 16 up until I got married, at which time we moved out of Wheaton and attended another church.
What I do at Wheaton Bible Church
I direct the Special Needs Ministry (GEMS) which stands for God’s Extraordinary Miracles
Why I do what I do
I have always had a heart to help people going through difficult times. I think this has been a result of many difficult situations in my own life. My desire is to help encourage people to draw closer to God through the difficulties, thereby enabling them to have victory over their circumstances through God. I have experienced special needs first hand as it has touched my own family, so I can relate, to some degree, with many of the GEMS families.
