How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ
My parents had taught me from birth about Jesus. My sisters and I had also been to Sunday School and Church since we could remember. Now, when I was 5 years old I had witnessed a car accident in front of my house. This got me thinking about death and whether or not I would go to heaven if I died. So, sometime while I was 5 years old, I asked my mom if I could ask Jesus in my heart. We went to my parents’ room, knelt down at my parents’ bedside, and I accepted Jesus as my Savior!
How I came to Wheaton Bible Church
I came to WBC my first Sunday in my new position here. Now, my family has been coming to WBC with Awana and the Women’s Bible study. We were introduced to WBC by relatives that attended. My family has been involved at WBC since 1997 when we moved to Wheaton from Chicago. Actually, we had called Wheaton Bible our “week day church” because we were members and I was on staff at Moody Church downtown Chicago.
What I do at Wheaton Bible Church
I’m the technical director at WBC. I’m in charge of sound, video and light for presentation at the church. My primary role is to make sure our Sunday worship services communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly and concisely. I also ensure the entire campus audio/visual systems work and are operated well. I direct a team of staff and volunteers to create the environment for the delivery of the gospel.
Why I do what I do
I am not a teacher or preacher. The closest role I find in the Bible of what I do is deacon. I serve this church and primarily God in this area of specialty of Audio and Visual. I’m just that behind the scenes kind of guy. If everyone thinks Pastor Bugh communicates dynamically, if people say that Pastor Hogan and our music is awesome, then I’ve done my job and accomplished my ministry! If people are turning around and looking at the tech booth during services, now THAT’S a bad day!
