How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ
I accepted Christ when I was nine years old after a Gospel presentation at a church camp. I was overwhelmed by my sin and the fear of hell.
How I came to Wheaton Bible Church
My wife Beth and I visited the church and so loved Pastor Rob’s passionate explanation of biblical truth and suggestions for application, plus the vulnerability of so many people that we met, that we never left. Within a few months, we got involved and soon thereafter became members.
What I do at Wheaton Bible Church
Early on we were very active in the visitor welcoming process, hosting “welcome dinners” in our home. We joined the Community for Christ Adult Class. Beth team taught five-year-olds for a while and we got involved in the Heart 4 AIDS Initiative, actually visiting Kenya in 2005. I joined the staff as Communication Director in November, 2002. I facilitate an unbelievably talented and committed team that is responsible for a lot of, but not all, the ways the church communicates. The group includes graphic designer Leslie Zander, writer/editor Nancy Langham, web/social media creator Liz Carver, and administrator Katie Labosier.
Why I do what I do
I feel called to serve our church at this time. God gave me 30 plus years of corporate and consulting experience in communication to prepare me for this job. There is nothing more rewarding and satisfying than being a part of what God is doing to change lives and build His Kingdom.
