  • How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ
In 8th grade, I went on my first retreat. I had been to a youth group a few times, but had never heard of going on a winter retreat. I signed up originally because it seemed like a good excuse to get out of the house for a few days. When I got there, I realized God had something so much bigger planned for that weekend. I was amazed by the leaders there and somewhat confused by how much they cared about getting to know me. They were constantly speaking truth into my life and it all sunk in without me really knowing it. On the last day, the speaker said anyone who wants to start a relationship with Jesus should come up to the stage during the next song to receive prayer. I honestly didn’t give much thought to it at first and zoned out. When I snapped back into reality, I realized I was up and walking to the stage. The Spirit led me all the way there and immediately there were leaders praying and crying all around me. I didn’t know how big this was. I received a spirit of eagerness and a burning desire to know God that still draws me near Him to this day.
  • How I came to Wheaton Bible Church
I started coming to WBC in high school. I was the only Christian in my house and didn’t feel like part of the body. When I talked with a few friends about this, they invited me to their core group. I loved it! Over time, I got more and more involved and now I work here!
  • What I do at Wheaton Bible Church
I am on the operations team, focusing on exterior maintenance. I also volunteer on Wednesday nights with Studio 78.
  • Why I do what I do
I work here because it gives me an opportunity to serve God every day. It really is a blessing. I help on Wednesday night, hoping that God will use me to impact kids like He did with the leaders on my first retreat. I also get the chance to witness to the community service workers and volunteers that work with us, which is so wonderful.
