Accounting
- Volunteer Office Assistant: Help with basic clerical tasks that can be done as volunteer's hours allow. Should be flexible, friendly, need minimum supervision, must be able to maintain privacy for financial data coming in and going out of department. Responsibilities: Accounts Payable/Report filing, office forms stocked, Giving Envelope letters and envelope return after address corrections. - Administrative help: If you have experience with computers and data entry, we could use your help. Every Monday morning we enter our guests into the church's data base system. This information is used to send out welcome letters, invite our guests to welcome coffees, core classes, adult communities, and more.
- Gatekeepers: Take an evening shift at the Welcome Center to insure that the church is both welcoming and secure. Direct people to their rooms and activities, and provide a protective presence for those in meetings throughout the building.
- Greeters: Create a warm atmosphere for all those who enter the doors at Wheaton Bible Church by serving as a Sunday morning greeter. Greeters are stationed at their door 20 minutes prior to the service and stay at the door 10 minutes after the service starts. No preparation required for this ministry, simply come with a warm handshake and a bright smile, and be willing to direct newcomers to the Worship Center, children’s classrooms, or Welcome Center.
- Parking Ministry Team: If you enjoy helping people in practical ways, being outdoors, and being active, you will enjoy being part of the parking ministry team. Help park cars prior to the service, maintain a secure lot during the service, and help people depart in an orderly manner.
- Ushers Cheerful, helpful men and women needed to serve as ushers at the 8:15 a.m., 9:40 a.m. or 11:10 a.m. worship service each week .Ushers begin serving about 20 minutes prior to a worship service each week, as well as special events and occasional evenings.
- Substitute Ushers: Ushers needed to serve periodically when a regular staff usher is absent.
- Team Leader: Become a team leader for one of the Front Door Ministry Teams- Greeting Team, Welcome Center Team, or Parking Ministry Team. Train, encourage, oversee, and coordinate the schedules of those on the team.
- Welcome Center Host: Do you have the gift of hospitality? Do you have an outgoing nature that makes it easy for you to speak with new people? Do you enjoy making people feel at home? Do you like being in the know about Wheaton Bible Church programs and activities? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you would enjoy serving at the Welcome Center during the Sunday morning church services.
- Welcome Event Host: Use your hospitality gifts to serve nine times a year by purchasing, setting up and serving light refreshments for the Welcome Coffee’s and Belong @ WBC membership classes.
Children's Ministry
- Team Leaders: Do you have gifts of leadership? Do you enjoy working with teams? Do you love children? If so, we encourage you to consider serving as a Team Leader within our Children's Ministry. - Awana: Verse Listeners, Secretaries and Leaders are needed to help with the many K-6 graders who come to Awana each week. Come from 6:15-8:15 p.m. on Wednesday nights during the school year to help in this exciting ministry. Contact Ginny Stair, 630.588.7184, gstair@wheatonbible.org.
- GEMS: God's Extraordinary Miracles is our special needs ministry. We have opportunities for three volunteers to serve on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. We have one child who could use two partners with special needs experience. Global Outreach and Local Impact
- PADS: We have opportunities to serve at the homeless shelter 6:00 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. in 2 1/2 -3 hour shifts. Contact Pat Cerny, 630.933.5651.

- Global MissionsFest Committees Our Global MissionsFest is set for Oct. 27-Nov. 2, 2007. We are looking for volunteers to creatively put our missionaries in front of our children. We have ideas -- we just need people who are willing to put the time into giving these ideas 'legs." We are also looking for weekly events coordinators for Missions Fest week. Men's Ministry
Student Ministries
- Adult Leaders: Junior high adult leaders are needed. Contact Jeremy Tullis, jtullis@wheatonbible.org.
- Adult Leaders: We need 8-10 core group leaders to work with our Senior High Freshman class; a few male and female coaches to come alongside and encourage our Core Group Leaders; one adult leader to help lead our Student Tech Team on Sunday mornings. Contact Mark Nelson, mnelson@wheatonbible.org.
Operations
- Sunday morning cone set-up: Sunday mornings (5:00 or 5:30). Someone is needed for about 45 minutes to place the cones and signs in the parking lots to help with the parking space dilemma. Could also be done very late Saturday evening. Must have own transportation.

Sunday morning set-up at Franklin Middle School: Sunday mornings (set-up:7:00-8:00 & take down: 11:00-12:00). Someone is needed to set up and take down the rooms for the Adult Communities. Light lifting includes: A/V equipment, podium, signage and other minor items.

Snow removal: We have a snow removal contract for the parking lots but need to do the sidewalks, stairs and entryways. If you are available anytime when it snows, we can use your help. We will provide the shovels and scrapers. You need to dress appropriately and have an ability to withstand the cold and heavy lifting.

Sanctuary pew straightening: Someone is needed to regularly straighten the pews and align them evenly. Time needed: about 2 hours, every other week. Supplies/tools provided; light to no lifting.

Painting and carpentry tasks: at various times, provide your name and availability and we will contact you when the projects come up.

Video/DVD Corner
- Volunteers Needed: We need help guiding selections and checking out videos and DVDs on Sunday mornings for 30 minutes after the third service, 12:10-12:40 p.m. If you are interested, please contact Helen Bartlett, 630.668.1759.
Worship and Creative Arts
- Arts Drama - A&B Players: We meet twice a month. Writers, actors, and producers are always needed. Contact Jill Walser, 630.871.1985, jillwalser@wheatonbible.org.
- Praise Ensemble: This vocal group sings about once a month in the Contemporary worship services. All who love to sing are welcome! Watch for dates announced in WBC Life or contact Cj Spensley, 630.588.7153, or music@wheatonbible.org for details.
- Choir: Singers are needed in all sections. You don't have to read music, but it helps. Choir sings each Sunday morning in the Traditional worship service, and presents special worship events several times during the year.
