    Community Life Pastor for Young Adults

    Wheaton Bible Church is seeking a dynamic and passionate leader who is committed to reaching and empowering young adults with the Gospel. The Community Life Pastor for Young Adults will be a vital contributor to Wheaton Bible Church’s effectiveness in making disciples who make disciples. Through vision casting, teaching, and pastoral ministry, this leader will guide and lead predominantly single young adults (18-30 years of age) to pursue lives of loving God, growing together and reaching the world. Working with the Community Life Team, this leader will create events, training and discipling venues, along with resources that are engaging, challenging and transformational.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provide strategic thinking and ministry design, as well as teaching, vision-casting and equipping to/for WBC’s ministry to young adults (ages 18 to 30).
      • Develop and implement a clear and compelling vision for young adults consistent with WBC’s overall strategy, and communicate it creatively to staff, the church family, and the community at large.
      • Responsible for the development, leadership and direction of teams of lay leaders that will expand the ministry.
      • Spearhead WBC’s outreach efforts to young adults in our community through athletics, the arts, events and other forms of relational engagement.
      • Teach and engage in ongoing discipleship and mentoring relationships among young adults.
      • Counsel and shepherd young adults
      • Perform pastoral role in baptisms, weddings, funerals, communion assistance, announcements as needed.
    2. Develop and implement a strategic plan for creating and hosting young adult events at WBC, in conjunction with Community Life leaders.
    3. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Campus ministries at Wheaton College and College of DuPage in order to foster collaboration and ministry development.
    4. Facilitate cross-generational discipleship. Partner with existing ministry leaders to recruit and train a team of seasoned leaders who will actively pursue relational mentoring.
    5. Develop and implement a strategic plan to maintain an effective bridge between High School Ministry and Adult Ministry.
    6. Develop and implement a strategic plan to maintain an effective bridge between younger singles and 40+ single’s ministry and Adult Ministry
    7. Implementing a plan for transitioning singles in partnership with both the Single Purpose and community life teams.
    8. Develop and maintain an effective partnership with Global Outreach and Local Impact ministries to increase the involvement of young adults in our global and local core initiatives.

    Requirements

    • Committed to holiness and developing your personal walk with God in order to model and lead others in their faith.
    • Committed to pursuing professional, personal, and spiritual development.
    • Has a deep personal commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission.
    • 3-5 years ministry experience, preferably in a large church or para-church setting.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Bible/Theology, or related field. Seminary or master’s degree a plus.

    Global Outreach Administrative Assistant

    Wheaton Bible Church is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant for our Global Outreach (GO) team. This person will support the organization and execution of the administrative services of the GO Department, as well as coordinating the logistical operations of our GO Teams and missionary candidate process.

    Responsibilities

    1. General Administrative Services
      • Provide support including reception, phone, scheduling appointments, meetings and events, database work, processing expenses, tracking staff attendance reports, etc.
      • Handle all printing and mailings, and prepare event signs and nametags

    2. Coordinate operations of the GO Teams ministry and missionary candidate process

    Weekday Lead Preschool Teacher, Three-Year-Olds

    Wheaton Bible Church Weekday Preschool has openings for some part-time teachers for the 2014–15 school year. We are seeking to hire two Lead Preschool Teachers who will teach two classes of 3-year-old children. These individuals will be responsible for planning and implementing an on-going program to teach 3-year-olds, and will need to meet the State of Illinois DCFS teacher requirements.

    WBC Preschool provides an enrichment program committed to teaching the next generation to love God, love others, and love learning. Our enrollment includes children from 125 families from DuPage County, half of whom attend Wheaton Bible Church and the other half coming from the surrounding community.

    Responsibilities
    • Provide safe day-to-day supervision of 15–18 preschool children
    • Follow and implement WBC Preschool Curriculum
    • Attend monthly class planning meetings
    • Set-up and maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom

    After-School Teacher—Puente del Pueblo

    Wheaton Bible Church is seeking part-time Teachers for the after-school program of Puente del Pueblo. Puente del Pueblo is an outreach of WBC and Iglesia del Pueblo that aims to serve the residents of several apartment complexes in West Chicago. This position serves the residents of Timber Lake Apartments at Wegner Elementary School.

    Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in education, youth ministry or a related field, previous classroom teaching experience, and sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families and culturally diverse backgrounds. Bilingual in English and Spanish or Arabic is preferred.

    This position is responsible for providing supervision for 15-18 students in homework completion, educational curriculum, Christian education, skill building, problem solving and recreational activities. Additional responsibilities include coaching and managing volunteer tutors and communicating with Wegner School staff.

    This academic year position is part-time at 20 hours per week, M-F 1:30-5:30 pm. The program runs from 2:45pm to 5:30pm M-F; Additional scheduled time from 1:30-2:45 is for prep and meetings.     As an active church with many ministries, WBC has a lot to communicate. We offer five Sunday morning worship services in four worship styles, along with Sunday school classes and small groups for all ages.     The Director of Communication leads the communication and marketing team, as they serve the church and the needs of each ministry area in a fast-paced client/agency-type relationship. The Director will work to enhance the visibility and image of Wheaton Bible Church, providing information to the congregation and community in effective and innovative ways. She/he is responsible for the artistic and creative identity of WBC.
