Caring For Kids
Monday evenings, 6:00–8:00 pm
Begins with family dinner in the Fellowship Center
Caring for Kids is a place of support for children who have experienced the loss of a parent or a loved one due to death or through divorce. We are here to help restore hope, trust, and healing for every child.
Caring for Kids is open to those in pre-school through 8th grade, accompanied by a parent who attends DivorceCare, GriefShare, or Single Parenting group.
Our volunteer staff is a committed group of individuals who are trained with the proper tools and a biblically-based curriculum that discusses topics such as:
- Building trust
- Dealing with anger
- Sad feelings
- Situations that relate to changes that have taken place within the family
Many on our volunteer team have served for years and have experienced the same losses and sorrows as the families we serve. We are dedicated and hopeful, believing that God is the great Healer of all time and it is because of Him that we know great things can happen! He takes the brokenness of our lives and, over time, makes it into something beautiful.
Caring for Kids provides a safe, confidential, nurturing environment where you will walk alongside other families experiencing similar struggles. Everyone is valued, loved and supported in their journey at whatever stage they are in.
Caring for Kids meets on Monday evenings during the fall (September through December) and winter/spring (January through April), taking a break during the summer.
There is no charge for kids in Caring for Kids, though a small fee is required for materials in the DivorceCare and GriefShare groups for parents. There is no charge for the weekly dinner.
When you register for DivorceCare, GriefShare, or the Single Parenting group, you will be able to register your child(ren) for Caring for Kids.
