As we celebrate Independence Day, it’s natural to reflect on the blessings we enjoy: freedom, opportunity, and the ability to worship God openly. These are gifts we should never take for granted.
But this week, our celebration is also marked by a sense of heaviness. Across the world, especially in the Middle East, conflict and suffering continue to unfold. Families are grieving, lives are being lost, and peace feels distant. As followers of Christ, we are called not only to give thanks, but to intercede.
This is a moment to pray.
Let’s pray for the United States, for wisdom in leadership, healing in our communities, and courage in the Church to be a voice of truth and love.
And let’s also pray for the nations, asking God to bring peace where there is war, hope where there is despair, and justice that reflects His heart.
This Sunday, we’ll take a few minutes during our service to do just that. We invite you to join us in gratitude, in humility, and in faith that God is at work even in the darkest places.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” – Psalm 33:12
